I’ve been thinking about something lately.
We live in a time where everything pushes us to be either on or off.
All in or all out.
Visible or invisible.
Winning or falling behind.
There’s no room for the middle place anymore —
That space where you’re not lost, but not certain.
Not on fire with purpose, but not checked out either.
Just… in it.
Figuring it out.
That used to be an acceptable place to live. Even a healthy one.
Now it feels like you have to declare something at all times:
Your goal.
Your brand.
Your plan.
Your next move.
But what if the middle place is where real transformation happens?
"You’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re human. And you’re exactly where you need to be."
In my own work — leading teams, building brands, telling stories —
the most meaningful moments don’t happen in the extremes.
They happen in the pause.
The conversation no one expected.
The space between certainty and doubt.
And as a person?
That middle place is where I remember I’m not a machine.
I don’t always need to be “crushing it.”
I just need to be honest with where I am.
Because that’s where empathy lives.
That’s where creative truth lives.
That’s where we live.
So here’s to those of you who are sitting in the in-between right now.
You’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
You’re human. And you’re exactly where you need to be.
